Sounds of a Post Apocalyptic Landscape by O Yuki Conjugate.
For this month, we are excited to have onboard with us the post-industrial/ambient music group O Yuki Conjugate with their sonic interpretation of a Post Apocalyptic landscape.
Since the 80s, O Yuki Conjugate has undergone rounds of incarnation based around Horberry and Hulme. They are currently in their fourth incarnation – previous members include Clare Elliot, Tim Horberry, Malcolm McGeorge, Dan Mudford, Pete Woodhead and Rob Jenkins, with Joe Gardiner contributing sax.
For this month’s episode, O Yuki Conjugate presents a form of “dystopian disquiet”, mixing in tracks from the likes of Hildur Gudnadottir and Tim Hecker to even composing all new unreleased music solely for this mix. Titled “An Hour of Dystopian Disquiet”, this mix is a peek into the world of O Yuki Conjugate and what is to come.
Artist Description:
Consisting of the original members Roger Horberry and Andrew Hulme, O Yuki Conjugate was formed in 1982 in the rural mining wastelands of Nottinghamshire, producing what they term as “dirty ambient” – which also sums up their fractious attitude to modern easy listening.
