Sayat Lova
Mrinal (born in 1998) is an emerging digital artist based between Dubai, UAE and Kerala, India. He utilizes computer-generated scenarios to examine the relationship between sound and the visual, creating works that are both aesthetically striking and sonically nuanced. His oeuvre is distinguished by its exploration of different themes in cyberspace. Past projects have been presented at museums, biennials and art fairs around the world including Art Dubai, SIKKA Art Fair, Demo Festival Netherlands, Kinomurale Poland, and Satellite Dubai.
One thing about Mui Mui’s DJ sets are for certain — she will always welcome you into her sanctuary of dance. Drawing on a myriad of influences, from electronic artists she’s revered since her adolescence like Autechre and Burial, her parent’s passion for 80’s Italo/New Wave, and her background as a trained dancer, Mui Mui’s sets oscillate between club-ready, danceable tunes to carefully selected heady tracks. Raised in the DMV and now based in Brooklyn, Mui Mui (Cantonese for “Little sister”) has been busy spinning the hottest spots from NY to Toronto, hosting her biweekly show “Navel Gaze Radio” at Newton Radio, and organizing inclusive parties such as Techno Casa and Playhouse around Brooklyn.
