This episode is a tribute to my favorite label of all time —dream catalogue. A label like no other, first encountered via a youtube algorithm one early morning in december 2015—2814-birth of a new day came on while I had one too many beers to drink and transported me inside of a beautiful wormhole full of romance, Nostalgia, yearning, sadness, transience, and impermenance that I have not recovered from since. No other label has had this much of an impact in terms of an overlying narrative and vision as dream catalogue. From romantic cyberpunk to alienated urban life, I would like to acknowledge this label and say thank you for all of the memories.

Through digital swamps and climate catastrophe, 011668 swim in sync beyond borders and language.

Vincent Yuen Ruiz (b 1990) is known for being a double bass player who evolves primarily in the field of free improvisation and jazz., while being active in various musical settings ranging from classical contemporary music to electronic music. He is the former double bass player of the minimalist/experimental trio Plaistow and has been a member of the Insub Meta Orchestra since 2017. Now living between Copenhagen and Geneva, his latest work has been a study in patience, a focus on repetition and the interaction between timbres and resonances. A certain idea of stillness often leads his sonic explorations, as well as giving a narrow framework to his improvisational style. With a minimalism bordering on reductionism, Yuen Ruiz mixes tonal melodies and textural approaches. He works both as a solo artist and with various ensembles.
