Sounds of a Post Apocalyptic Landscape by Anti Shift w jjjacob.

For this month, we are excited to have onboard the Danish avant-garde producer jjjacob to share with us his interpretation of a post apocalyptic landscape. Based in Copenhagen, jjjacob is the founder & curator of Katharsis, a transformative label that explores the act of purification and purgation of emotions through music. On top of that, jjjacob is well known for his otherworldly, mind-bending compositions.

With releases on ANBA, Sweat Taste and more recently on his own label, Katharsis, each track of his takes one on an emotive journey that is almost ethereal and transcendental. Throughout compositions, he carefully weaves in and out of gnarly textures juxtaposed with angelic pads and unfiltered analog stringed instruments. With that, he skillfully paints a form of reality that reveal the beauty within harsh and crumbling worlds. Master to the craft, he believes in music as a tool of spiritual and physical healing.

For this episode, jjjacob shares with us a 30min mix of unreleased demos, both under his main alias and J Swila, a project led by him and Lighyer.

Preceding the mix by jjjacob, curator of Dead Inside Podcasts, Anti Shift, too will share a mix of his, reflecting the transformation of his musical inspirations. With the two side by side, this episode explores the divide between a dark, ominous world and an ethereal, angelic utopia.

Jjjacob’s Mix Description:
As a result of digging deep down into old folders of discarded demos, this mix represents the soundtrack to an alternate reality, where the simulation has glitched into a degenerated version of itself. A sonic still picture of what could have been but was never meant to be.
