Nina Eba

My path in music began from childhood. Even then I had a good voice and dreamed of standing on the stage. This prompted me to enter music school where I learned to play the piano and write music. From a young age, I started playing and singing in various music groups. Later I started writing electronic music. Also worked on television for 5 years as a music editor.

Music is very strongly intertwined in my life, so it is not surprising that with the popularization of DJing, it came to me too.

3 years ago I got into the community of burners and created my own art workshop “Papayka” in the Kurenivka Palace of Culture (Residention of Ukrainian Burners). All the time there were decks and a very cool Xone:PX5. The equipment was right in front of me, and I decided to take advantage of it. At that time, I didn’t even have a laptop to download music. I asked my friend DJ to pump any music on my USB flash drive, so I learned to mix on tracks that I had never heard.

At the same time, my friends started having parties where they played quite unusual music: jazz, soul, trip-hop, juke, bass and many other things. They definitely didn’t play straight kick music such as techno or deep house. So I asked to play at their party, prepared a set for them with music that I really like but even could not imagine that it can be played on dj sets.

But as you know, there is such a thing – tolerance for unusual music, every time I want something more strange, with each set my selection becomes more and more wild. At the same time I’m a big big fan of anime, so I started to learn more about asian culture and dig music from the Far East, cause I wanted to share my love and interest in my sets.

I fell in love with Japanese juke, Korean soul, Chinese hip-hop and Singapore jazz…. so it became my passion to dig it and to share it with my friends, listeners and others who are interested in asian culture and music. I dreamed about my own show, where I can share all these tracks from really talented artists and sound-producers. Now I’m happy that I can do it!!!!
