One thing about Mui Mui’s DJ sets are for certain — she will always welcome you into her sanctuary of dance. Drawing on a myriad of influences, from electronic artists she’s revered since her adolescence like Autechre and Burial, her parent’s passion for 80’s ItaloNew Wave, and her background as a trained dancer, Mui Mui’s sets oscillate between club-ready, danceable tunes to carefully selected heady tracks. Raised in the DMV and now based in Brooklyn, Mui Mui (Cantonese for “Little sister”) has been busy spinning the hottest spots from NY to Toronto, hosting her biweekly show “Navel Gaze Radio” at Newton Radio, and organizing inclusive parties such as Techno Casa and Playhouse around Brooklyn.
