WAVES FROM Gal Tsadok-Hai – 28/09/2023

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different.
There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our 17th episode from Gal Tsadok-Hai.

“I was trying to explore the boundaries of pushing pitch throughout the mix in order to pass different vibes and establish a certain build up or journey. At the end, an encore of magical sound design by my former studio neighbor.”

Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,

swirled, circled and hid behind each other’s

eyes and winked at me, and then shimmered and

disappeared and appeared again, laughing..

And I was squeezed through the heart of an hourglass.”

Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,

WAVES FROM Usof – 21/07/2023

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different. There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our 15th episode from Usof.

This mix was recorded live at the last Living Room event a few weeks ago in june. We hosted the first NUG show and also the lovely project called Tutti by Heather Mease and Grace Holleran. It was a pretty random track selection of some of my most played tunes and I decided to do a lot of looping, fx and tempo changes to make it really drony and drowsy. Honestly most of these songs came out unrecognizable. I was trying to cool off the place while the audience was still arriving at the venue from an intense heat wave outside.

Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,

WAVES FROM Arigto – 16/06/2023

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different.

There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our 14th episode from Arigto.

Words from the artist about the set, “Ryūichi Sakamoto was the only artist or even the only person which we could call our role model for many years. Not only his music but also his ideas, character, and humanitarianism were quite inspiring. In this mix, we collected some of our favorite Sakamoto tracks and closed the mix with one of our favorite Bach pieces, which is also part of the playlist which Sakamoto prepared for his own funeral.

Music is still very fun to us, but with the passing of Sakamoto and Jóhannsson, two important artists are missing. Both of them used to push music into new and interesting directions, without losing any emotional expression and heart.”

WAVES FROM Quiver – 17/03/23

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different.
There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our thirteenth episode from Quiver.  We first listened on a great platform called Zenevloed.  His EP Artificial Tranquility took form as an abstract piece composed of contrasting yet recognisable pieces of textures and shredded materials. The sounds were powerful, delicate, among other things and of course, memorable. Leaving the set in the words of the artist,

“This mix is a gloomy collection of tracks that have a certain uncanny or dream-logic-like quality to them. I wanted this mix to feel like a slow-mo scroll through various spaces, distant voices, and intangible sounds.”

Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,

WAVES FROM Mads Kinnerup – 17/02/2023

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different.
There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our twelfth episode from Mads Kinnerup. We first discovered Mads through a label called No Technique out of Copenhagen from which we have discovered many great artists.  The music we received enlightened us on a different approach to music and the way it is created. Instead of using many voices, you try to get the most you can from using one or two. This really resonated with us and so we asked Mads back here to show us some of his musical tastes. So when we asked him about how he was feeling about music currently, it was no surprise that he said,

I am interested in minimal music that moves very slowly with few harmonic movements and an emphasis on textural motions.”

There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our Eleventh episode from Sanjib. He was one of first artists to deliver his Shining Bright Remix on Personal Passage, giving us a smooth interpretation of the original. One that makes you look up at the
stars and wonder, letting you know there is a path for you but it won’t be easy.

Leaving the set in the words of the artist, “tainted by melancholy and recorded in a peaceful energy, this set is a short mirror of my winter feeling. As a moment of recovery and regeneration. let yourself be guided by these deep waves.” Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,

WAVES FROM Yogev Freilichman – 19/10/2022

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different.

There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our ninth episode from Yogev Freilichman. Back tracking a little, we first discovered Yogev on a release on Zabra a couple years ago. Controlled, unpredictable and defined, Yogev always kept our ears glued to the sound. We have listened to many sounds in between but we never forgot what we heard.

“In this mix , I’ve tried to create eruptions of energy from broken textures, and maintain fluidity in between. This is my current selection of artists’ music that excites me and opens my horizons towards new territories of sound and music.”

Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different.
There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our eighth episode from neurotypique. He wrote the bottom half of the intro, so some of us know him pretty well. Doing a brilliant job as head of art direction & design for the label, today he showcases tracks from his collective.

“I’m not a DJ so my thought in creating this mix was to open the door on RICO, the french modular community we are creating together with Kevin Paul Cahay and Brise Lame. We organise events, workshops and broadly aim to create the young, open and diverse modular scene we are lacking in France. The project is still young and I hope to present more artists from this community next time. Right now though you can listen to a selection of our tracks, not tied by tempo or a strict artistic direction but rather brought together by companionship and a vision for the future.”

Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,

WAVES FROM Bios Contrast – 24/08/2022

It’s difficult to talk about sound. When we close our eyes and listen, there are no boundaries and as such, what we feel can often not be described with the words we know. Our feelings are unique & different.
There is no word or genre that unites the artists of the label. Putting a word on a style, in order to classify, takes part of the magic away. Instead, what unites us is our passion for sound, dancing with friends and growing together.

Continuing with this same philosophy we present our show WAVES FROM and our 7th episode from Bios Contrast. We approached him for a remix of Zeze Wakamatsu’s new track Loomer.

“I was really fascinated by the vocals in the track and thought of a remix which takes elements from my recent album “Dragon Rising” and turns it into something that sounds electronic yet using raw recordings of harmonium, vocals and sample manipulation.

This mix includes some of my favorite artists that I’ve been listening to and in remembrance of the days I made electronic music and how my sound progressively shifted towards acoustic in tone.”

Hope you enjoy this journey through sound waves and wishing you much love,
