raghoul w/ YoungWoman – 05/12/2022
“YoungWoman creates sets around her moods that she wants to share. Within these moods, she bends and bridges different genres to keep everyone on the tip of their toes while taking them on a journey on how we can enjoy and dance to anything and nothing.
For this one, YoungWoman wanted to put in sound the rollercoaster of jumping from one airplane to another, from one time-zone to another, from being jet-lagged to reset to jet-lagged again to finally being back home.”

The word Raghoul comes from the Amazigh language and translates to the English word for bass. Tamazight is the collective name for the languages spoken by the indigenous peoples of North Africa, the Imazighen. In music, the word raghoul is also used to describe the first string of the guembri or sintir – a three-stringed instrument traditionally used in Gnawa music that produces both melodies, bass tones and rhythms when played correctly. As a digital label and collaborative platform, Raghoul focuses on bass music and art as well as bass-rooted cultures.
