Dindie (she/her) is an illustrator based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Since 2019, she shares her music findings on a mix series, Mineral House. She explores ambient, balearic, afrobeat, percussive and jungle. Her mixes have been featured on radio stations worldwide. She also co-manages the music label,100.000 (Seratus Ribu) & co-curates its mix series. When not busy with music, she spends her days drawing, collecting cute stationery and enjoying a cup of tea.
About this mix
I often spend the afternoon with my cat on the rooftop. As the night unfolds, we heard adzan (call for prayer) from a nearby mosque and kids set off large firecrackers. I held my cat really close, my mind wandered to Palestine. I only hope I could hold my dearest ones as the world trembles down.

“In this mix, I express my feeling of living in a hectic city that often feels like being caught in a whirlwind of endless activity. In these concrete jungles, where skyscrapers and light pollution dominate the skyline, there’s a year for a reconnection to my heritage. “Reconnect: With yourself. It’s no secret I’ve made a lot of ambient introspective mixes in my time, and I’ve spent a hell of a lot of time lying on the floor listening to downtempo breaks feeling supremely existential with myself.
I’ve recently discovered another side to introspection – one that involves dancing, unwatched. Away from anyone’s gaze, letting the music bubble up and erupt through my limbs. Letting my body writhe around on the floor as it pleases. Invisible and seductive, and only for me. I suggest getting down on your bedroom floor to this. See what alley of introspection you dance into. See how your body heats up”.

In just a couple of years, Venus Flytrap (@rachelrach_) has quickly become a sought-after name among Shanghai’s DJ offering, curating eclectic music for radios, clubs and festivals across the country. Nurtured by China’s community-driven club scene, she recently left the motherland’s embrace in search of her spot on the Antipodean playground in Naarm with less parental control.
Her words on the mix:
“In hindsight this mix sounds like a peaceful and revelatory alien encounter on the beach at night. I can’t believe I actually have the perfect cover photo for it. My partner snapped this photo of me with the head torch on at Little Waterloo Bay, while we were hiking in Wilsons Prom early 2020. Fast forward 3 years and I’ve just moved from China to Australia permanently. In this process there’s been a lot of Reconnect – shedding old labels, acquiring different identities, forming synapses for the unfamiliar shapes of a new city. These ideas have become the strangeness, contemplativeness and hopefulness that formed this set. “
