The People’s Avant-Garde w FK (cosmic coffin) – 09/10/2024

Frank Kruse is an interdisciplinary artist, independent researcher & founder of net label Cosmic Coffin. His home recordings are online under various monikers such as frankie death (90s home-taper) and FKFNGZ (20s electronica improv). Research projects include archiving the Australian literary underground of the 1940s and the convergence around poet & anti-philosopher Harry Hooton (1908- 1961). New York-based music blog Grandma Sophia’s Cookies describes Cosmic Coffin as a label/loose collective/distribution network for Frank and his DIY recording, rock and rolling gang of misfits. This 20-track playlist for The People’s Avant-Garde journeys through experimental electronica and underground scenes from around the globe. “I am especially passionate about music as a listener. Music is not merely the soundtrack to my life; it is a healing force that keeps me grounded to my environment and connected to my humanity.”

Salvaged Tapes w/ Ryo Sugimoto – 09/10/2024

Born in 1988, from Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture. Pianist, keyboardist, and composer.
He performs a wide range of music, from jazz to Latin genres like Brazilian, Cuban, and Argentine, as well as ambient and improvisational music.

In May 2022, he released a solo album titled fragments. Using a piano plugin, he specified parameter changes on the score for a solo piano piece recorded in a hall, presenting a beauty that blurs the line between reality and illusion.

He is also active in the unit “aqubi” with vocalist Yuuki Takami. Additionally, he performs support roles for artists such as Mugi Furukawa, Yu Arauchi, and Julia Shortreed

Constantine Skourlis invites ARIGTO – 09/10/2024

Arigto is an experimental composition project formed by Noah Haußmann and Sebastian Stauß, based in Berlin and Leipzig. They released three EPs so far and three full-lengths ‘unseen untold forgotten’ which came out on Noisia’s Division label, ‘Pretense’ released in 2021, and the most recent one ‘Lukuss’ released in 2024. In addition, they had appearances on the Berlin-based imprint 7K!, Division, Osaka-based Depth of Decay, and evo-natura.

They scored the music for the award-winning short film “Island of the Dolls” by Julio César Padilla and “Aria” by Bruce Tetsuya. Also, they created the original soundtrack for “Selfloss” a video game released on PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The duo has also composed music for exhibitions by Jörgen Axelvall in collaboration with renowned poet Mutsuo Takahashi 高橋睦郎, displayed in Tokyo at both Ken Nakahashi Gallery and LOWW Gallery, and worked on Carolin Martin’s exhibition at UdK Berlin. In addition to that, they scored music for dance, fashion, and advertisement. Besides the high output of productions, the duo also performs concerts; for example at an art exhibition at the Zionskirche in Berlin.
