Lethal Fantasies by Bussy Temple & ALIGN.ONLINE w/ MJMA – 08/10/2024

Bangkok’s MJMA discovered her passion for electronic music during the pandemic lockdown. Since 2023, she has been carving her space in Bangkok’s underground scene, playing with prominent local collectives and building a reputation for her darker sound. In 2024, she played her first international gig in Hanoi, expanding her reach beyond borders.
Her selections are known for their unapologetic intensity and dark palette. She channels lust, angst, melancholy, and euphoria through seductive synth, moody basslines, topped with visceral energy of mechanical beats. When she moves into techno and rave territory, her sets become raw and multidimensional, full of distorted, high-octane energy that grips the dance floor. Follow along and you’ll catch her messages between the beats, from political statements to brainrot sense of humor.

Lethal Fantasies by Bussy Temple & ALIGN.ONLINE w Baby Diwata – 13/08/24

Baby Diwata is a Manila born DJ, artist, and multi-disciplinary creative who began her sonic journey in Hong Kong. Her genre-fluid selections are tender yet unrelenting – an unorthodox mix of Deconstructed Club, Hard Dance, Baile Funk, Ambient, and Hyperpop sad girl remixes.

In both her sound and image, Baby Diwata embodies androgyny and challenges herself to constantly transcend binaries. Unafraid to push the boundaries of club music, she continues to experiment with alternative genres, fusing soft and melancholic melodies with distorted and heavy hitting bass lines to nurture a soundscape that taps into the deepest burrows of her queer and feminine identity.

On her latest mix, she channels her Lethal Fantasy with hard, seductive beats. Her weapon of choice being a selection of high BPM Deconstructed Club, Gabber, Baile Funk, Jungle, Breaks, and Ambient. The mix is a manifestation of her desire to appropriate conventionally masculine genres and sounds, molding it into a new feminine aggression.

Lethal Fantasies by Bussy Temple & ALIGN.ONLINE w/ Lalit – 10/07/2024

Lalit is a Southeast Asian-American DJ/producer, astrologer, movement enthusiast and event organizer. Formerly a resident DJ at Brooklyn’s Bossa Nova Civic Club, they currently operate through Red Room, the premiere underground club in their new home city of Yangon, Myanmar.

A founding member of the global interdisciplinary artist collective Xiao Ma Party Controllers, Lalit was a seminal presence in NYC’s underground music scene since 2012. Known primarily for their work as the DJ/vocalist VVEISS, Lalit has also composed, written songs, and performed in ensembles such as the hardcore punk band Rollers, math-jazz duo O-NAMI, ambient drone group The Firmament, DJ duo Alias, and other cross-genre collaborations within the American avant-garde and dance circles.

Lalit’s prolific involvement as an innovator in the realm of dance music and queer rave community-building has led them everywhere from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Berlin, Bogota, and now to Southeast Asia.

At the forefront of Yangon’s burgeoning dance music renaissance, Lalit works closely with the Red Room team to conduct DJ workshops, educate on safer-space policies, assist the release of local artists’ work with mixing/mastering, and expand the city’s musical horizons and historical knowledge through their influential style of DJing, live performance, and production.

Grounded in experiential studies of both the ancient traditions of Indian classical music and the black futurist vision of techno, Lalit’s musical practice dives deep into the extremes of metallic industrial noise, coiling harmonic synthesis, vocal poetics, and compounding polyrhythms, juggling the notion of structure and tradition with the liberation from the same.

Every offering from Lalit speaks to their appreciation for the rich and sometimes hidden interconnections across family trees of musical forms and diasporas around the world. Depending on the set and setting, their sets move unpredictably yet artfully through the most treacherous hardtechno, hardcore, jungle, and tek, creatively blending in pop, hip-hop, club, footwork, and south/east Asian anthems to envelop the dancefloor in a time-warping, border-jumping fever dream.
