Hounds of Pamir: The Snakes of Skyurbuchan – 08/01/2021

A 60-minute selection of compositions improvised and performed live on a  Moog Model- D

Let this be drawn across the walls of this ark
No messiahs shall appear in surprise

This gyre shall again come to a dim sensation
With the scowl returned to the beholders eye

On strewn paths writhe newborn again
Thier slithering huffs of steam and spit

A still construction of what had lived before,
And a submission to their wild mouthed fits.

Will these whimpers crown the river,
and split seas of sandglass hours

They swallow cold skulls in Pamir Khuhestan
And revile the canine cower

Hear every howl that rings in this glow
For starvation is a knife in the knee

Colder now the mud, berries, and milk
Belched with the blood on the trees

Tonight the hounds reek of strife and spleen
A hunt breathes in every hour.

Simmer the slump of death winter frost
And cast to fresh ice another bone tower.

The Hounds of Pamir: From Pamtzil to Karakash – 04/12/2020

A 60-minute selection of compositions improvised and performed live on a Moog Model- D

“During the long winter, fodder is very difficult to obtain; all the willows about the villages are pollarded, and the leaves together with all the scanty natural herbage, are dried and stored. I believe there is hardly a blade of grass or a green leaf to be met with from November till the end of May.”

The viscous hours of the winter moon glow on the static freeze of Sindh.

Morning sun a mere bauble in the blue and gray

And the apothecaries of tears and milk

wind in the vast spirals to be sheathed in December snow.

The final sneeze of the declining winds.

Woodfire, kerosene, and disease.

Tonight the hounds feast

And in the feral hours of violence

hollow out cows and calves alike.

Cutting teeth at the last supper

Beneath the charnel mounds of Pethup.

The Hounds of Pamir: The Fires of Bal Ashram w/ Ruhail Qaisar – 06/11/2020

A 60-minute selection of compositions improvised and performed live on a Moog Model- D, through a recent post-pandemic shift back to my home in Ladakh since June this year.

Retracing old steps and retrieving lost images from a non-existent memory hole.

These compositions stand requiem harkening back to images from another old tragedy. A foster home in my vicinity that incinerated to the ground on a quiet night sometime around the Winters of ‘96-97.

It was established later that the fiasco was initiated by a single wax candle which was left unextinguished.

The deceit of Autumn is over.

Bleeding yellows bring pale skeletons.

Waters freeze the toes and teeth.

The candle flame swallows the wood.

Soot mold on the dairy creek

Smoke, withdrawals, and rats.

Wax and wane of my mind.

Tracklist:
Give us this day, our daily bread
Hafiz reads by the candle
Namgang
Soot and ice on every slope
The expedition of 1870
The red blinker at Stok / pandemic flight
Painter Man
Staring at a hotel at Zangsti

The Hounds of Pamir w/ Ruhail Qaisar – 02/10/2020

“60-minute selection of compositions improvised and performed live on a Moog Model- D, through a recent post-pandemic shift back to my home in Ladakh since June this year.

Retracing old steps and retrieving lost images from a non-existent memory hole.

These compositions breed from the pure and slow hostility of the silent rinse of each season in the cold-desert environments of Ladakh, Tibet, Kashgar, and Kyrgyzstan.

The moon howls back at the hounds tonight.

And the cold is seeping into the vast.

Konghur Tagh sleeps.”

Tracklist:

Illtutmish
Interlude 葱岭
Yangon
Interlude ལ་དྭགས
Then she ate fire
A cold calling on a September evening
