With a love of multiple genres and eras, she curates mixes that are free of gimmicks and full of heart. Hedra Rowan (she/her) is a computer musician in Chicago. She runs the label/concert series Bodymilk, and performs with Tallulah Bankheist, Bimbo Rococo, Hell & the High School and solo. Her most recent album, “This Beautiful Moment Sours,” is available on compact disc from Benska.

Symdrone from Taipei takes over The People’s Avant-Garde this month. Symdrone is an artistic prism with meandering contours, a sound preceding the appearance of its meaning and content. Trusting in its ability to retroactively predict how its future would come to pass, Symdrone embarks upon a journey from sound to vision and back again, always disappearing but never diluting the predictive process.
