Gabriela Valdespino, aka gabb, is a Caracas-born, interdisciplinary artist and DJ. Her sound works encompass experimental narrative formats, live improvisations, sound collages, and graphic scores, presented as installations and audiovisual performances.
As a DJ, gabb is into bass-heavy club music, oscillating between deconstructed sounds and percussive rhythms, focusing on experimenting with vocals and different genres.
This mix hits an atmosphere with far remnants of club music, free from the constraints of the dance floor. It layers snippets of old classic Latin American songs with electro, spoken word, and industrial sounds, with a little twist. A hyperdowntempo-mix where gabb recklessly manipulates the tempo slider, stretching time and creating space between sounds to explore textures and glitches generated by the hardware’s algorithm.
