Mirae Arts – 18/01/2021

Elbert Choi is the founder of Mirae Arts, a music label based in the suburban bowels of northern California. Mirae Arts currently has five vinyl releases from artists such as Seraphim Rytm, Michiru Aoyama, and Bokeh. Previous to focusing on the label, Elbert briefly made music as Hysteric Agent, which ended with a cassette release from the Berlin-based noise label, Total Black. The sixth vinyl release from Mirae Arts is currently in progress.

Will these whimpers crown the river,
 and split seas of sandglass hours

They swallow cold skulls in Pamir Khuhestan
And revile the canine cower

Hear every howl that rings in this glow
For starvation is a knife in the knee

Colder now the mud, berries, and milk
Belched with the blood on the trees

Tonight the hounds reek of strife and spleen
A hunt breathes in every hour.

Simmer the slump of death winter frost
And cast to fresh ice another bone tower.

Experimental and noise artist Victoria Shen aka evicshen @evicshen has joined us for a residency, her first broadcast featurs a 30 mins live video comprises of live sets recorded live in her surroundings during lockdown.

“The pandemic of 2020 has forced live performers to get creative in order to continue their practice. I’m presenting three pieces that were performed and filmed while much of the US was under lockdown. The first piece was a live performance outside of the 16th and Mission BART station in San Francisco on Halloween night, the middle piece in my bathtub, and the final piece in a closed pinball arcade. Please enjoy. :)”
