Blooming Hour begins gently and ends heavy, taking the listener from tender grooves to the pits of bass-driven club music.

Blooming Hour is hosted by squish, who grew up in Hong Kong and is now based in Seoul. Over lockdown, she fell into a hole of breaks, jungle, and garage and never quite recovered. Since learning how to mix at a workshop for femme and nonbinary people at university, she’s played at a whole host of weird and wonderful gigs up in the tiny coastal town of St Andrews, Scotland.

With 15-years experience in house dance and a deep love for house music. Megan hails from Japan and is currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She has been teaching house dance and organizing events since 2019. One of the signature house dance jams Megan hosts is called “Rumah Terbuka,” which translates to “Open House” in Malay and house-music only party, “Soulscape”. Even though the event was small in scale, it was a full house on the day and turned out to be a great party!

Souvenirs from Hong Kong w/ Nightjarr – 31/07/2023

Australian/Hong Kong music producer Nightjarr has made a mix which features music that soundtracked her recent trip to Hong Kong. It features “Holding Onto Time feat. Jingle”, her 3rd release, along with a selection of groovy house and electronic. It has been 3 years since her last visit to Hong Kong and these were the tracks on repeat, as she explored Hong Kong.

Australian/Hong Kong music producer Nightjarr released her debut single “Fall for You” in 2020. Her 2nd release “East Esplanade” is featured in Vinyl Moon’s latest vinyl compilation “The Shimmer Below” Vol 90. Her 3rd release “Holding Onto Time” is a catchy summer tune, which features vocalist Jingle. Her music has been played on Australian radio stations Triple J Unearthed, FBi Radio, SBS Chill and a guest mix for Mooncake on 3RRR.

The 4th installment of 417hz Ana Roman (Fokus Global) features BASHO in the first 30 minutes, followed by Roman. BASHO is a DJ and promoter from Mexico City. Their music combines percussive and experimental rhythms from underground genres, providing an immersive experience. Basho draws inspiration from Latin and queer communities, shaping their unique style, leading them to perform at various underground electronic venues and parties in Mexico, such as Yu Yu, Por Detroit, Lapi, Club Colima, Sic, and Bar Oriente, and to present mixes at various other platforms, including The Lot Radio, HKCR, Internet Public Radio, Radio Alhara, and more. They are an artist who values experimentation and constantly seeks new ways to express their creativity and emotions through music. Their sets reflect a dedication to fostering a more inclusive and diverse electronic scene. Additionally, Basho is involved in managing a management agency called Tumulto, which focuses on nurturing and elevating Latin American artists and projects within the industry.

Ana Roman (Fokus Global) is a producer, sound designer, and multi-disciplinary-generative artist. The 417hz series is a chance for Ana to
showcase love for the more deconstructed and experimental sound design elements of music. Roman producers under the pseudonym of Skulptor. They are deeply embedded in future-sound design, A.I. tools, and creative coding. Right now Ana is busy producing and generating both bio-organic and A.I. trained sounds as a member of the A.I. AR/VR collective: Sound Obsessed. They release under Juke Bounce Werk, Mechanical Tapes, and Fokus Global.
